Greetings! This is an original photograph, taken in the “Black Dragon” canyon/wash in Utah’s San Rafael Swell (just past Green River, Utah). It is an incredibly mysterious and alluring red-rock canyon; but to truly experience it you need to put on those hiking boots and take to the sand!
(And, that “black dragon” – an ancient rock art drawing on the rock within the canyon that the area is named for – looks a lot like a “red camel” to me. And maybe I’m not so crazy; if you go softly and respectfully to the ancient rock at on the wall, turn and look up to your left down the canyon – is that not a camel up in the rocks? Perhaps a guardian of this sacred place?)
