Greetings! This is an original photograph, taken on Red Mountain Pass (the Million Dollar Highway), somewhere between Ouray and Durango, Colorado. It's a short hike down to this cabin, but it's always home sweet home when I get there. Who needs a 5,000-square-foot-house when you live on the edge of Heaven?
There isn’t a fall that goes by that I don’t pack up all my gear and head to the high country of Colorado. When the trees go gold (and red and orange and…), it’s all about trekking through their highs (gold leaves touching the blue sky and the sun) and their lows (their freshly fallen leaves dusting the landscape along the trails and deep through the forest). Wow. I absolutely could not make it through the Winter if I didn’t spend time in my trees before they went to sleep!
