Metal prints
Greetings! This is an original photograph, taken along the Front Range of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains – showing the beauty and beast of fire. When I took this photograph, the Cameron Peak Fire was burning out of control. The fire was the largest wildfire in Colorado history. It began on August 13, 2020, and burned 208,913 acres of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in western Larimer County. Thought to be human-caused (the person who lit a campfire was never found), the fire ignited on the flanks of Cameron Peak some forty miles west of Fort Collins, Colorado. Heartbreaking. It's been years since the fire burned, but the scars (and the horrendous toll on wildlife and landscape) are still abundant. We all need to remember the toll that one match can take on our people, our plants, our animals and our souls.
